DARPA Grand Challenge Navigation

Introduction . Course-Plotting . Traversal

Introduction

Navigation consists of two main parts:

Course-Plotting
Using knowledge available before the race to figure out where the vehicle should go.

Traversal
Reacting to the terrain in real-time to make decisions.

Course-Plotting

Course-plotting is all about the decision-making that happens before the race starts.

Traversal

Traversal refers to the vehicle's actual running of the course that was plotted in course-plotting.
